Victoria Beckham Future Lash vegan mascara is hands-down one of the best smudge-proof mascaras that I’ve tried so far. It definitely lived up to my expectations, although there are a couple of downsides that you’ll need to keep in mind before picking up a tube for yourself.

Victoria Beckham has brought the wonderful things that we all adore about luxury makeup brands into the world of vegan, clean beauty. There are so many positive things about this cruelty-free mascara that it was hard not to instantly try it when I got it in my Ipsy bag.

Pros

Vegan Mascara

After realizing that I have a gluten intolerance, I was unwillingly thrown into the world of gluten-free foods. This has quickly transpired into a profound interest in vegan things, including vegan mascara. Animals that are raised so that we can use them for products, including cosmetics, contribute damage to the Earth at a faster rate than humans via water consumption, etc., so it’s nice to know that this product is vegan.

Cruelty-Free Mascara

When a product is advertised as cruelty-free, it means that it is not tested on animals. Although all makeup products aren’t cruelty-free, it’s great knowing that this product from Victoria Beckham is. If you’re on the hunt for cruelty-free mascara, this one is worth looking into.

Smudge-Proof Mascara

This product advertises that it’s smudge-proof, and it definitely is! I wore it for an entire day, and it stayed perfectly in place. It dries quickly, so you don’t have to worry about smudging because it’s still wet when applying other makeup around your eye.

The Applicator Makes Application Easy and Mess-Free

While applicators with large, thick bristles have dominated the mascara industry for decades, smaller brushes like this one definitely have their benefits. Because the bristles are small, it doesn’t load too much product on the brush. You won’t have to worry about accidentally getting mascara on your upper or lower lid during application. Applying this cruelty-free mascara is as simple as pulling the applicator out of the tube and brushing it along your eyelashes.

Looks Natural

The perfect application wand combined with a smooth, non-clumping formula can help you have lashes that look naturally darker. Because the formula does not have a thick coating, you don’t have to worry about lashes sticking together or looking fake. They aren’t so crunchy that you’ll spend the day fearing they are going to break in half, either. Instead, you get slightly darker, fluttering eyelashes with one swipe of this vegan mascara.

Cons

Not Waterproof

While there are plenty of vegan mascara brands on the market with waterproof mascara, this is not one of them. While it will survive in a slight drizzle, this isn’t a mascara to wear during a downpour or day at the beach.

Although this can be a huge downside to this cruelty-free mascara during the day, it’s a blessing when it is time to remove the mascara. You can easily wipe your eyelashes with water, and trust that it comes right off.

Should You Buy It?

Yes! I love the mascara minus the fact that it’s not waterproof. It’s easy to apply, simple to remove, and gives you a naturally flawless look that won’t smudge until you’re ready to wipe it away. The price for the mascara is affordable and well worth it for a vegan mascara like this one.

Those who have not heard of Victoria Beckham might recognize her as Posh Spice. Beckham was branded as the most stylish member of the girl group Spice Girls in the 90’s. Long after songs like “Wannabe” and “Who Do You Think You Are” stopped blaring on the radio, Beckham took her career a step further by launching her own clothing line. She joined the cosmetics industry in 2019 with a company, Victoria Beckham Beauty, that managed to set itself away from the rest of the industry with a few features that fans have come to love.

While Beckham had collaborations with previous companies, such as Estee Lauder, this is her first makeup company and brand. She is the co-founder. Victoria Beckham Beauty was founded by both Beckham and Sarah Creal. They loved the idea of makeup that is created by women.

Clean Beauty

The cosmetics industry, and several other industries, continue to include ingredients in their products that are known to be harmful to humans and/or animals. For example, soda brands that have flame retardant in them. The high levels of arsenic and metals that were once found in baby foods. Cosmetics are not the exception.

Clean beauty products are free from these toxic ingredients. When we apply cosmetics to our face, our skin absorbs the ingredients through our pores. The fact that Victoria Beckham offers clean beauty products is one more thing that we love about them.

Vegan and Cruelty-Free

Although the company tends to focus more on having clean beauty products and being environmentally friendly, it’s definitely worth noting that most of the products are also vegan and cruelty-free. Even some of the waterproof products are!

Transparency

The company claims that they are transparent. You can see on each product description whether it is vegan and cruelty-free. Granted, no one is going to inform the public that they are testing products on animals. However, it’s worth noting that they include plenty of information in the product description to form your own opinion.

Victoria Beckham Beauty Prices

Future Lash Mascara is one of the most affordable products on the website. Other products are also seemingly affordable, such as the waterproof vegan eyeliner that you can pick up for under $30. However, before you fall in love with this brand, it’s worth noting that they get more expensive as you continue browsing. A matte bronzer brisk will cost you over $50, and lipsticks are almost $40. A single-pot eyeshadow is going to be closer to that $40 range as well. I love the brand and this mascara, but I’m not going to fill my vanity with it. Instead, I’ll enjoy a product on occasion. (I could get an entire palette from Tarte for less than what a single pot eyeshadow costs at Victoria Beckham Beauty.)
