My Review of St. Ives Pear Nectar and Soy Body Lotion
Cynthia is a gardening enthusiast. She has a green thumb and always plants a variety of items for harvesting during gardening season.
Having dry skin should not keep you wearing long sleeves or staying inside during the summer months. Sure, having patches or ashy spots can be a bit embarrassing. It can even be painful at times if the skin is extremely dry. These issues can easily be solved by finding a good skincare routine and a lotion that works for you.
I have to stay on top of my skin and be diligent in my routine. In the past, dry skin issues have been so severe that my hands will eventually crack and bleed. It also causes a lot of flaky peeling skin on my face. It really can be embarrassing. I am always looking for a good lotion that will really tackle and control all of my skin concerns, especially one that I can use all over versus having multiple products for my face and others for my body. I have long been embarrassed over my skin troubles. But I recently found a budget-friendly lotion that handles everything! It is now my lotion of choice for the entire family and soothes all of our skin!
Pear Nectar and Soy Body Lotion
I recently picked up a St. Ives Pear Nectar and Soy lotion to give it a try. At first, I thought the St. Ives Revive and Refreshes body lotion would be greasy. knowing it contained soy, I guess I had it in my head that it would leave behind a film. Happily, there was no greasy film left behind, and no oily appearance at all. The fragrance is phenomenal, and I normally shy away from anything pear related in fragrance. I just have never seemed to care for pear as a fragrance in the past. This was a very light fragrance, not overpowering at all. It will not get muddled with your perfume or other fragrances. But still nice enough to be noticed if you do not use any perfume or body spray.
St. Ives delivers an unprecedented lotion, in my opinion. The Revive and Refreshes lotion left my skin silky smooth all day, after only one application. Yes, you read that right—all-day hydration! Plus it delivered that wonderful hydration without leaving any greasy or oily residue! My skin felt amazing, plus I got several compliments on how great I smelled. The fragrance is light and lovely and not overpowering at all! Something I always consider when choosing a lotion. I do enjoy wearing perfume as well I never want lotion to cause an unpleasant overall fragrance when layered with my perfume of choice for the day.
Revives and Refreshes with Pear Nectar And Soy is an amazingly non-oily lotion that left my skin nourished all day! Most lotions only seem to hydrate your skin for 5-10 minutes after application without aiding any issues long term. The ones that do last, always seem to make my skin look greasy. Looking greasy or oily all day is not a look I want! Some will even cause that oily residue to transfer to your clothing, potentially ruining your favorite blouse. This is not the case here. The lotion absorbs fairly fast and just keeps my skin hydrated. No oily residue or shine to my skin. No more worries of transfer to my delicate clothing either.
On top of keeping my skin soft and smooth all day, it was addressing and repairing some of my biggest skin issues. Usually, lotions in the past have not done anything to address the ashy skin on my elbows. From just the first application my elbow looked so much better! The next day when I applied the lotion for a second time I noticed they did not feel as scaly as they had been either! After the first week, my elbows were looking as if I never had a single issue!
It's Also a Solution for Rough Man Hands
My fiance has been using it on his hands recently as well. He is constantly working on something in the garage or building something in his free time. He is a man's, man and loves working with his hands, and participating in outdoor activities. As you can imagine his hands can become pretty rough. What man that works outdoors does not end up with dry hands? He also tends to get dry skin on his face, no doubt from spending time outside in the elements.
He started using this lotion and loved the feel of it. From the first use, he noticed that his hands were softer. I noticed his hands were softer too! Continuing to use the lotion he managed to heal his hands and despite working outside they still stay smooth with regular use. The fragrance is light enough that he does not smell girly. Trust me, if he thought he smelled like a woman he would immediately have stopped using the lotion.
This lotion is working great on keeping his hands smooth and un-cracked from working in the cold! Plus it keeps his face and hands hydrated in the dry summer heat as well. He no longer has rough calloused hands all the time. So it not only hydrates but also seems to repair severe dry and cracked skin as well.

This lotion comes in a 21oz bottle of luxuriousness and is available on the cheap. My first bottle lasted a few months, with both my fiance and I using it daily. I have since purchased another. This bottle will really last some time even with daily use. So it is a super buy for the price and the large size it comes in! This bottle of hydrating awesome will run you less than $10 in most stores! For under $10, you will have a lotion comparable to a high-end expensive name brand. In the past, I have even paid for expensive prescription lotions to try and deal with my dry cracking skin with no luck.
Honestly, my skin looks better and is more hydrated with Revive and Refreshes than any of my high-end lotions. This will last for months! Investing $10 for soft smooth skin for months to come? Super savvy shopping that you can brag to friends about! Don't worry I won't tell them you found out here!
I want to add for all the mothers out there, that this is hypoallergenic and absolutely safe for your little one. Anytime I am applying lotion my son wants some too. With St. Ives 100% natural moisturizers I can feel good about letting my son use it! He loves to put lotion on his feet like a big boy. This lotion works very well on keeping him as smooth as a baby, even in his toddler years!
Brings New Life toTattoos
At times one of the worst problems about me being embarrassed over my skin is how my tattoos look. Dry tattoos look dull and uninteresting. Making some of even my newest ink look old and ancient. While my tattoos are not faded, not keeping them hydrated will cause them to look that way!
Applying lotion to my tattoos every day keeps them looking fresh. Most people get a tattoo and then once it heals they totally forget about taking care of it. Tattoo care should be a part of any basic skincare routine. Using a daily lotion on your ink will keep them from looking less than perfect. Using a broad spectrum SPF coverage will also protect your tattoos from harmful UV rays. This will keep them from fading and looking less than perfect. Over the years I had gotten out of the habit of using any lotions, and that included not using it on my tattoos.
Now that I use the Revive and Refreshes lotion daily. My tattoos are back to getting compliments again! They are back to looking professional and less like 'free tattoos'. We've all seen free tattoos or the 'my friend is a tattoo artist' tattoos and you can spot them a mile away! From just the first application my tattoos brightened up and looked so much better than they had. I just apply a small amount over my tattoos and the first time had them looking like fresh ink again.
If your ink is looking less than fresh, try treating them with a lotion like this. It is likely because you're having dry skin issues and a good lotion is going to perk them right up! Also, remember to cover your tattoos with sunscreen during prolonged sun exposure. This will protect them from UV rays, which can be extremely damaging and cays fading.

Thank You. I have used other St. Ives lotions in the past as well without much luck. Perhaps this is better formula since it is paraben free and a more natural formula. I do love the price point on this lotion! I used a hemp lotion many many years ago in my teens and ended up with hives. Likely an additive in the lotion and not the hemp, but I have avoided them since.

This is a very good review for St. Ives. I tried one St. Ives lotion years ago, and it wasn't strong enough for my extremely dry skin. However, it sounds like they've improved the product, and it would be worth another try. I've been using Hemp moisturizer on my dry skin. It runs around $7 for an 8 oz bottle at the beauty supply house (Sallys).
