The Organic Pharmacy: My Review of the Best Natural and Organic Skincare Products
Eleanor enjoys sharing her reviews of popular products with her readers so that they can make informed decisions about what they purchase.
Discovering The Organic Pharmacy
Like most women, I like to use beauty products and skincare creams as a part of my daily regime. I am also a strong advocate of natural and organic products which have not been tested on animals and do not contain animal ingredients. The "natural" content of a beauty product is important to me, as the skin absorbs a certain amount of what is put onto it, and therefore nasty chemicals can enter the bloodstream. For me, natural is always best, but organic is even better.
As natural and organic beauty products become more and more popular, the amount of choice on the market increases. Now there is a whole range of natural skin care products to choose from ranging from relatively inexpensive to very high-budget. I have sampled many different products and brands, but here I am going to review the most luxurious I have used—skincare products by The Organic Pharmacy.
First Impressions
The skincare products by The Organic Pharmacy are, without doubt, the best I have ever used. I received a range of them as a Christmas gift, and I couldn't have been happier. No matter how ordinary I felt the rest of the time, putting on my Organic Pharmacy products always made me feel as though I was reveling in a secret luxury. My skin never felt better—I actually have very dry skin, and a lot of products leave it feeling taut and undernourished. This is not the case with The Organic Pharmacy's products. My skin was left feeling smooth and radiant. I know that they say beauty is on the inside, but hey—it doesn't hurt to feel and look good on the outside, too.
Company Specifics
The Organic Pharmacy began in London, situated on the exclusive King's Road, Chelsea. From there, it has gone from strength to strength, offering superb, high-quality products to consumers. The main philosophy of The Organic Pharmacy is to provide customers with pure, effective skincare and cosmetics, free from all the chemical "nasties" that invade the ingredient lists of so many of the products on high-street shelves. Just as "we are what we eat", so "we are what we put on our skin".
The Organic Pharmacy uses pure, concentrated ingredients derived only from nature, which can reduce wrinkles, counter the effects of free radicals, and mediate damage caused by the sun. The application of the products does differ somewhat from most other natural skincare brands—with my gift, I received two rather interesting-looking "potions", which turned out to be a serum and a gel. For with The Organic Pharmacy, you don't just use each product separately (though you could, if you wanted to)—to get the best results, you mix them all together!
Sounds weird? Well, not really. Basically, The Organic Pharmacy offer a selection of moisturising and hydrating creams, plus an Antioxidant Face Firming Serum and an Antioxidant Face Gel. The products are expensive, but they do go a long way - especially the creams. You require only the smallest dab of cream, then you mix it with a couple of drops of serum and apply the mixture. In the evening, you can mix the serum with the gel for a potent, nighttime treatment. The results are amazing - my skin felt great immediately. And to its credit, The Organic Pharmacy has received countless excellent reviews from satisfied customers.
Serums and Gels
Just like the perfect recipe, by mixing the products, you can create exactly the right balance for your skin's needs. The Antioxidant Face Firming Serum is certainly a must-buy—particularly if you are hoping to reduce wrinkles and sun damage. It also helps to spread the moisturiser so it can be better absorbed. My skin was much improved, even after only a handful of applications. Somehow, it felt plumper, softer, more hydrated and appeared more radiant. The Antioxidant Face Firming Serum is like receiving magic in a bottle—it might be expensive, but trust me, you get what you pay for. And it is a very powerful product, full of natural, high-quality ingredients that your skin will just drink up, leaving it feeling intensely nourished.
The Antioxidant Face Gel blends well with the serum. Again, it is a potent anti-ageing blend, which can counteract free radicals and minimise the appearance of skin pores.
My Skincare Routine
For my skincare routine with products from The Organic Pharmacy range, I used Antioxidant Face Firming Serum, Antioxidant Face Gel, Carrot Butter Cleanser (a superb natural cleanser that left my face feeling really soft, spongy and clean), Double Rose Ultra and Anti-Ageing Antioxidant Face Cream.
Are The Products Overpriced? Not If You Consider The Ingredients
Well, I honestly believe that although the products are certainly on the expensive side, the ingredients are highly superior and very effective. It is the concentration of the organic oils that makes The Organic Pharmacy Products so good. For instance, the Antioxidant Face Firming Serum is rich in wild rosehip oil, which is high in trans-retinoic acid and essential fatty acids. This oil has been proven to minimise wrinkles and reduce scarring. Another ingredient is pure orange oil which protects the delicate capillaries of the skin. While cheaper products can be both natural and organic, a combination of these skin-boosting ingredients cannot be achieved at a very low price. Therefore, I would say that The Organic Pharmacy products are certainly worth the cost. Well, they've got me hooked, anyway!

Not Just Face Creams
The Organic Pharmacy produce a huge range of products, only a handful of which have been described here. Every product is both natural and organic, in accordance with the beliefs of the company founder, who has an interest in homeopathy. You can purchase organic suncreams, cosmetics, baby products, hair products, bath products, a range for men and a selection of gift sets for women, babies and teenagers. There is also a section on health supplements—oh, and beautiful neroli candles, which really add serenity and a welcoming, uplifting, natural fragrance to a room. For me, The Organic Pharmacy is simply one of the best natural skincare companies around—if I had enough money, I'd buy everything!

@Krell - I agree - it is expensive, but difficult to replace for something else once you've tried it!

Great hub! Thanks for sharing. I know that natural products can be more expensive, but if it saves you from developing insidious diseases later on, it's worth it.
