Since she has been married and going on official trips and attending royal events, Meghan Markle has been wearing light colors such as white, beige, and blush. You could almost expect to see her in those shades, but not while she was in Dublin.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left for their very first international tour as a married couple on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. They traveled to Dublin, Ireland. While there, she wore different colors as a tribute to the country.
Green for Ireland
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Dublin on a private jet. The Duchess was wearing a rich forest green Givenchy outfit. It was not by accident or a coincidence that green was Meghan's color choice. Green is a symbol of Ireland with a deep meaning.
Meghan's outfit consisted of a patch pocket pencil skirt in a rich green color and a matching elbow-length blouse. She wore tan suede pointed-toe pumps and carried a roasted almond-colored Strathberry Midi Tote. People mentioned that Meghan did a great job walking in Dublin on the cobblestone streets in stilettos.
The Duke wore a green tie in the same shade as Meghan's two-piece outfit. The green that Meghan and her Prince Harry wore is a small way to let the people know they were there to strengthen ties as the U.K. plans to leave the E.U.
A Long Tradition Among Royal Women
Meghan is not the first in the royal family to wear clothes that make statements. Since the royal family cannot voice their opinions about politics and causes, they send hidden messages through their outfits.

Throughout generations, the royals have been paying tributes to countries through their clothes, especially royal women. Not only do they dress in the colors of the country they are visiting, but they sometimes dress in the colors of the flag or national symbols. They often wear clothes made by local designers. That is a subtle way of honoring their hosts of the various countries.
